In Germany, only around 300 heart transplants were carried out last year. The waiting list for transplants is therefore constantly growing. The waiting time is often bridged with a VAD (Ventricle Assist Device) system. Each device is individually selected for every patient that is best-suited to his or her heart condition.
Our experts can provide you with many types of support. They counsel the patients before they are taken to the OR and inform them of the changes in their daily lives that a VAD implantation will involve. After consultation with the physician, our specialists select the required equipment, prepare it for implantation and also remain on hand to offer support during the operation. Our VAD coordinators monitor the systems after the operation. Our staff can also provide support for out-patient treatment upon request.
